Bremor abrasive materials
The abrasives are classified in following categories :
Metallic abrasives
- Steel
In general : For better efficiency we recommend that sharp cornered steel is used in BREMOR machines.
| BR 824, BR 834, BR 855 et BR 870/890 | Mild and non-tempered steel | |
| Cleaning and roughmaking of surfaces | ||
| Preparation before galvanising. | ||
| BR 195 et BR 196 | Same application as above, but for finer surfaces. | |
It is also possible to use the above abrasives for treatment of non-iron alloys, however it is essential to treat the sandblasted part immediately (by galvanising or painting) in order to prevent corrosion.
Spherical steel abrasives :Hardly used, except for shotpeening.
- Stainless steel
| BR 200 | Treatment of stainless steel parts, such as watchcases, white gold. | |
| BR 202 | Jewellery for decoration, satining. | |
| BR 210 | Treatment of stainless steel parts, decoration. | |
- Copper alloys
| BR 100 N 77 | Bronze powder. Watch and clock industry, jewellery. |
| BR 101 | Fine deburring. To matt golden brass or bronze parts. Satining |
| BR 130 | Copper powder - hardly used |
| BR 150 V | Strongly recommended for watch and clock industry. Used on brass parts and for satining. |
- Aluminium - Strahlmittel
| BR 480 | Fine treatment of meterhands of mild aluminium. |
| BR 481 | To clean and matt aluminium parts in general. |
Ceramic abrasives
- Normal or brown Corundum
| BR 2050, BR 2100, BR 2150, BR 2220 | Used to decalamine tempered parts |
| to matt glass parts, and on aluminium parts. | |
| Preparation for galvanising. |
Caution : Do not use these abrasives, if after sandblasting, the parts have to be drilled, turned or cut, because of the danger of dust incrustations.
- Noble or white Corundum
| BR 3030, BR 3120, BR 3180, BR 3220 | Surfaces on which no traces of iron are allowed. |
| Tantalum wires for condensors etc. | |
| Other applications as under a) above. |
- Glass powder
| BR 550, BR 600, BR 650, BR 720 VG | Treatment of aluminium for decoration |
| Sandblasting of wooden parts. | |
| To matt various parts. Preparation for galvanising. |
- Glass beads
| BR 452, BR 453, BR 454, BR 455, BR 456 | Decoration on gold and silver parts. |
| Hardening of surfaces. Satining. | |
| Special applications. |
Vegetal Abrasives
| BR 300, BR 301 | Cleaning of plastic parts, deburring of pressed plastic parts. |
| Use in electronical industry. | |
| BR 400 | Same as above (Rice shell). |
Plastic abrasives
| BR 410, BR 411, BR 412, BR 425 | Treatment and deburring of plastic materials. |
The working-pressure and sandblasting time necessary for the treatment of parts are to be determined through tests..
We are at your entire disposal for any further information that you may need.
ATTENTION: Do not use glass sand (SiO3) because of silicosis danger (prohibited by SUVA).
